Welcome all admirers of black-white and color images!
Grasped for many years by the photographic madness I have finally decided to present to a larger internet audience some of my more interesting pictures.
On the main page you will find pictures with a short description, pictures which remind me of special moments or interesting observations. Hopefully they will invite others to reflect on their own, to dig through old photographs or to use a camera once again.
Currently, media flood us with screaming, mad and hostile images amongst which, the pictures of the good world and reality are lost. Still, this exhibition of malice represents only a tiny fraction of the everyday world!
Further on I present pictures from two regions, which I have been trying to compare for the past few years. In November 2001, I presented at the Morse Library in Natick, MA an exhibition of 30 photographs "Between two cities", one year later a similar exhibition, at the "Pod Michałem" gallery in Warsaw, Freta 4, trying to compare two, very distant regions of the world - Polish Mazovia and American New England (east coast states of Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut and Rhode Island). Old Towns of Boston (Beacon Hill) and Warsaw are so culturally and architectonically different yet I see some historical resemblances and other ones as well. They were both birthplaces of freedom movements, economic revolutions and deep social changes.
While broadening this website's content in the future, I would like to present a cycle of comparisons of architectual development of several cities, mainly Warsaw's and photography's technical curiosities from several decades ago.
As far as my free time will allow me to, I will discuss photography on the net, hoping that some of my initiatives will invite others to take part in collective meetings and outdoor photographic sessions; I'll gladly share my experiences and information with individuals that would like to raise their skills (my e-mail address: jerzygp@wp.pl).
I hope that this will be a chance for me to sell my photos and reports, furthermore to cooperate with calendar manufacturers and publishing houses on future photo albums. Please feel free to contact me.
